Through the manipulation of shadows and overall tone equalization, it produces an enhanced Black and White range that can't be achieved with the Desaturate filter.

By turning on, or turning off the visibility of the layers that are produced, will enhance the shadow areas. Like our other scripts and actions, you vary the effect by changing the opacity of the different effect layers.

Hint: Changing the visibility or opacity of the resulting Layers will alter the effect.

Hint: There are two tint layers for warmer or cooler gray tones.

Hint: Darkening, or starting with a darker image, with good contrast, will produce a more dramatic effect.
